Nigeria is one out of the 5 large low income countries where more than half of the children under the age of 5 are either stunted or wasted which is a chronic form of malnutrition. This can be attributed to rise in conflicts, unimplemented policies, poverty and lack of proper education. But rather than agonize over these problems, we believe as an organization, it’s time to organize a solution moving forward.
On the 18th of November 2017, FEED TO GROW in partnership with the Primary Healthcare Development Agency (PHCDA) of Nasarawa state and TRAFFINA Foundation will be carrying out a malnutrition intervention in Tudunkofa community, keffi Nasarawa state.
The intervention would involve training on Infant and young child feeding (IYCF) practices as well as awareness on readily accessible locally nutritious food within their community; Family planning awareness with distribution of family planning commodities; Education on proper hygiene and sanitation as regards good nutrition; anthropometric malnutrition assessment of children 6-59 months with distribution of necessary feeding commodities.
In view of this upcoming project, a team of volunteers and resource persons locally and globally, have been working relentlessly to achieve utmost impact and sustainability. We are not just volunteers, we are a family, and we volunteer not because we have the time but because we have the heart. We will be privileged to have you volunteer with us for this intervention but more so as an organization.
As a non profit organization, we can only be able to make greater impact through generous donations from individuals and institutions like you. We implore you to kindly make a donation towards this upcoming intervention. They need us and we need you, because YOU MAKE MORE POSSIBLE.
